For candidates
Who can see my video?
Only an employer who has spent a credit to unlock your profile. You can see the list of companies that have, on your settings page, and you can remove any of them — that takes effect immediately, even though they paid.
Do I have to record a video?
No. A written introduction sits in the same place and employers read it the same way. The video helps, but a profile without one is a complete profile.
What does the AI see?
Your declared skills, experience, preferences and availability, plus qualifications read from your résumé. It never sees your video, photograph, voice, name, or anything inferred about your age or background. You can turn AI discovery off and stay findable by manual search.
Is Job Elf free for me?
Yes. Candidates never pay. Employers buy credits.
Can my current employer see me here?
Anyone who can search the marketplace can see your profile while your status is Actively looking or Open to opportunities. Set it to Paused and you disappear from the marketplace while keeping everything you've entered.
For employers
What does a credit buy?
One candidate, unlocked for your whole company, permanently. Their video, résumé and contact details. Unlocking the same person twice never charges twice.
Do credits expire?
No.
Why do we have to be verified?
Because a credit buys access to somebody's private video. Verification confirms there's a real employer behind the account before that happens. It's not a rating and candidates aren't shown it as one.
Someone left the company — what happens to what they unlocked?
It stays. Entitlements belong to the company, not the seat. Removing someone removes their login.
Can we get a refund?
Ask us. Returning money doesn't take back an unlock — if your team has watched a video, they've watched it — so the two are handled separately and both are recorded.
Privacy and safety
Does Job Elf analyse faces or voices?
No. No model reads a face, a voice, an accent, a manner or an expression, and nothing derived from a recording enters a ranking. A person watches the video — that's the whole point of it.
Are there match percentages?
No. AI search returns a shortlist with the evidence behind each suggestion. A number like '87% match' looks precise and isn't, and it invites people to skip the reading.
An employer contacted me outside Job Elf. What now?
Tell us. Contacting candidates off-platform to avoid the unlock is the most common reason an employer account gets blocked.
